1. Super Wallpapers


Xiaomi has also introduced "Super Wallpaper" with MIUI 12. The company has created high-precision animated 3D models of Mars and Earth based on available space exploration data. You will be able to set these super wallpapers on both your locked and unlocked phone screen. When the dark mode is turned on, the planet you select for the wallpaper will also enter the night time, enhancing your visual experience.


2. Dark Mode 2.0


The new Dark Mode 2.0 on MIUI 12 will bring wallpaper dimming for Xiaomi phones. The feature will work in tandem with the daytime and gradually dim the wallpaper as the daylight changes to night time. In MIUI 12, the phone will automatically adjust the font's weight and boldness to reduce glare when the phone turns on dark mode. The font contrast will also be adjusted based on the ambient environment.


3. Sensory Visual Design


MIUI12, Xiaomi has visualized the core system information, allowing you to see the status of the system at a glance. Xiaomi calls it the new "Sensory Visual Design". This basically means that when you go to the Settings page on your phone or check things like storage availability, you will see system information presented in the form of graphs and visual diagrams, making it easier to understand and consume.


4. AI calling


Xiaomi has been training its AI assistant - Xiao AI. This is similar to Google's call screening feature which was introduced with Pixel 3.

Xiaomi has now revealed that after half a year of testing, the AI ​​phone assistant has responded to 4 million calls for closed beta users. With MIUI 12, Xiaomi has officially upgraded the AI ​​Phone Assistant under the name "AI Calling". With this, users will be able to customize the language in which they want their calls to be answered. They will also be able to switch between automatic or manual call answering. However, it is not yet clear whether this feature will apply to users outside China.


5. Global Free Window

MIUI 12 you will be able to reply to messages and WhatsApp even in small windows. You will get the benefit of this during calling and gaming. This feature will work with all the apps present in the phone.


6. Mi Health

The Mi Health app was first seen in MIUI's developer beta ROM last year, but now the company has officially released it with MIUI 12. The Mi Health app in the phone will track the steps, sleep and exercises of the users.


7. Enhanced privacy

In the new update, many changes have also been made regarding privacy. Like Apple and Oppo's phones, you will be able to create a virtual ID in Xiaomi's phone as well. Apart from this, many types of controls have been given to the users regarding data sharing with the app.

Xiaomi says that it’ll start rolling out the stable version of MIUI 12 by the end of June, 2020.
